John Bolton appears to be headed for confirmation. As always, the distinguished senator from California has one of the best lines.
Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said [Carl Ford Jr.’s accusation of mistreatment] was not an isolated incident, since Bolton had harassed at least three officials who disagreed with the extent of threats he thought Cuba and other countries posed.
Calling Bolton a “bully,” Boxer said, “I think Mr. Bolton needs anger management at a minimum and he does not deserve to be promoted” to the U.N. post.
Now, far be it from me to know what real anger is, but don’t you think Boxer is one of the least qualified to suggest someone else get anger management? I would so like her to try to suggest that to Hillary Clinton. ;D
And if you haven’t heard already, Adam will be stationed aboard the USS Nimitz after his A-school graduation and a couple weeks of liberty. He wanted to be in the San Diego area, but he’s really not that thrilled to be on an aircraft carrier. Word is that culinary specialists are only being stationed on ships at this time, however. I think he’ll like it once he gets used to it.
It so sucks that the Cubs were rained out today. Oh well, Prior and Wood are both starting tomorrow, so hopefully two wins will come as well.
One more thing that I’d like to mention: I hate that Yahoo’s mobile email thing stripped my apostrophes. Granted, only one other person saw it, but still, why even go through the process inserting apostrophes on a mobile phone if they’re not even going to show up? Outrage!
