The 911 lines were jammed in Grand Rapids after a radio station said it planned to drown a dog in order to raise awareness of recent West Michigan drownings. This act is truly despicable, and I hope the station personalities get taught a lesson, not only for the act itself, but causing the emergency lines to be tied up because listeners panicked. You can do a lot of things to raise awareness for something. Committing a felony should never be one of them.
EDIT: The article is updated to mention it was just a stunt. But I would still expect charges to be filed for the resulting jamming of emergency lines. As they say, you have a right to free speech, but you can’t yell “FIRE!!!” in a crowded theater.
