When ESPN broadcast a two-hour show because the NFL schedule was released, you know things have gotten too ridiculous. We hear enough prognostication in the week leading up to the start of the season-to prognosticate now long before the rosters will be set is crazy talk. I’m willing to bet the four-letter network pushed the start of the draft to 3 pm instead of the usual noon start so they could air a 3-hour pre-draft show. Football is the most popular sport. Who the hell is left to attract with such utterly unnecessary programming? I suppose it has to be slightly better than reairings of trick pool shots or the WSOP.
